We use the Australian Curriculum to prepare all students for the future world in which they will learn and develop tools to respond to the challenges that will continue to shape their world.
We implement the whole Australian Curriculum across Prep to Year 6 through learning areas such as:
- English
- Mathematics
- Science
- Humanities and Social Sciences (HaSS)
- The Arts (Drama, Visual Arts, Music or Media, Dance)
- Health and Physical Education (HPE)
- Languages: Japanese (in Years 5-6)
- Technologies
- Manual Arts (in Years 5-6)
Our school has a strong focus on Literacy improvement and as such, our early years staff implement InitiaLit in our Prep to Year 2 classes five days a week. InitiaLit is an evidence-based whole-class literacy program which incorporates a synthetic approach to the teaching of phonics alongside a rich literature and vocabulary component. This program provides all children with the essential core knowledge and strong foundations to become successful readers and writers.
